American powerboat racer David Bryant of Mesa, AZ passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 after being ejected from his racing boat on the Manning River, Taree, New South Wales, Australia.
Bryant was known for driving flatbottom racing boats in races on West Coast. Later in his career he joined the Unlimited Hydroplanes series as the driver of the Gregory family's U-10 "USA Racing". He won "Rookie of the Year" honors in 2007.
